The Basics of Martial Arts

Improves Conditioning and Self Defense
Drills are the basic techniques of Kung Fu. These include how to punch, strike, block and kick. Each technique uses a different part of the body for maximum effectiveness not only for self-defense but also for conditioning. You’ll develop concentration, speed, coordination, and endurance through a combination of these techniques.

Full Range of Skills for Conditioning and Flexibility
You’ll learn techniques such as the Hammerfist, Rolling Fist, Palm Strike, the Willow Leaf, Front Kick and the Cut the Eyebrow Kick… plus many more. This provides you with a full range of motion for improving conditioning and flexibility.

Not only do these drills develop your upper body strength, but they also develop strong and powerful legs by using postures such as the Horse and Lunge. You’ll learn to use these postures along with the waist to develop unbelievable power.

Secrets to Disable any Attacker
All Chinese strikes have turns or twists to add to the power and effectiveness of each technique. By learning the drills properly you can generate power within a few inches rather than drawing back or winding up… like you see in the movies. These punches and strikes act like drills where you actually penetrate the body to disrupt the internal organs when used for self-defense.

You learn to focus on a target with various training bags. The reason that we do this is twofold: one to develop the control and concentration to hit a vital area and two to maximize the power of each strike.

Vital points are weak points on everyone’s body. There are 108 of these points. Now you do not have to learn all of these, but you will learn the most important ones that are easy to remember and utilize.

Develop Your Power to the Max
To maximize the power of a strike you learn the proper distance for striking. For example, if I’m too close to the target, I’ll just push it. If I’m too far, I’ll just tap the surface. With constant bag work (body shields, heavy bags, forearm shields and focus mitts, you’ll develop a sixth sense of exactly where you need to be to develop the maximum power for each strike.

We will teach you some of these basic principles in your very first lesson. Give it a try today. It’s a free lesson, so you really have nothing to lose.
