Discover the 8 Principles of Self Defense

Get the Edge in Self Defense with the 8 Secrets

Along with the techniques I just described, you’ll learn the 8 principles of self-defense that include awareness, critical distance, evasion, foundation, blocking, control, counter, and guard. Without these 8 principles, the techniques will be less effective. In addition, once you learn these 8 principles, the self-defense strategies become multi-dimensional. In other words, you can instantly change, with unshakable confidence, the techniques to fit any self-defense situation that may arise.

We have taught these same techniques to law enforcement, the FBI and to US Marshalls. We know they work…from the battlefield to modern day street defensive tactics.

This Could Happen to Anyone…

Imagine if someone approached you with a weapon, threatened you, or was following you on the street.  I’m not trying to scare you here, but you’d probably be afraid that you wouldn’t know what to do.  Well you don’t have to worry about not knowing what to do, because in almost every case you don’t have to actually do anything.  A mugger, or anyone who is going to attack you on the street, is looking for an easy target, someone who they can get the jump on.  Believe me, these guys aren’t looking for a fight any more than you are.  90% of self defense comes down to awareness and confidence.  You don’t have to be big or strong or know any fancy moves.   In fact, just by having the awareness and confidence that kung fu training develops, a student of ours was able to defend himself against a guy who pulled a knife on him.

He Pulled Out a Knife…

A couple of years ago he was up in Oakland at night.  He wasn’t doing anything crazy, just walking down the street minding his own business when he sees this guy coming towards him. He’s not sure what it was exactly, but due to the sense of awareness developed through kung fu training he was able to tell that something about this guy just wasn’t right.  As the guy walks past him, he turns his head to keep an eye on him and sees him stop and pull out a knife.   They’re not even five feet apart at this point and this guy is pointing knife at our student.  All our student does is stand his ground and look him right in the eye. After a few seconds the guy folds up the knife, puts it back in his pocket, and turns around and walks away.

So he didn’t really have to do anything.  He didn’t have to remember any techniques or do any moves.  All he needed was the awareness to turn and face the guy before he could come up and attack him from behind, and the confidence to stand his ground and show the guy he wasn’t afraid of him.
